About 12seconds for Peace

'12seconds for Peace' is a collaborative video-arts project, designed to raise the energy of manifestation for peace on our planet and in our individual hearts and minds. When humanity manifests internal peace and recognises the natural order of the human condition, then peace in the world will follow. The proceeds from 12seconds for Peace will go to support and aid the various good causes of a number of charitable and non-profit organisations around the world.

12seconds for Peace - Peace X Peace

It is with great pleasure that we announce a link-up between 12seconds for Peace and the women's peace organisation: Peace X Peace.

Peace X Peace began in 2002 when Patricia Smith Melton, a poet, playwright, film maker, and photographer, gathered six experts in peace and women’s rights from around the world to discuss how they might respond as women to the violence of 11/09/2001. The organization was incorporated as a 501(c )(3) nonprofit in the USA to connect women internationally to build peace. It launched a website and an online news service and began connecting women, across geographic and cultural divides, via the internet. Peace X Peace are very much involved in collaborative work with the United Nations on various initiatives for women, including the Commission on the Status of Women, Millennium Development Goals and UN Women.

Peace X Peace, in collaboration with 12seconds for Peace are inviting the global membership of Peace X Peace - across more than 100 countries - to contribute a 12seconds for Peace video. Peace X Peace videos will be streamed here as a part of the overall 12seconds for Peace project but will also be used by Peace X Peace in their own promotional activities. Watch out also for dedicated Peace X Peace compilation videos from 12seconds for Peace and Peace X Peace.

You can find out more about the work of Peace X Peace on their website here: Peace X Peace. If you are interested in joining the Peace X Peace community and supporting their work further, you can join at: Peace X Peace Community.
